The most feared, most misunderstood spider, the brown recluse

We’ve all seen the horrible photos on the Internet and read the descriptions of people who have lost half of their arms or legs because they “were bitten by a brown recluse.” In fact, we probably went to those pages after being bitten by something at night and assuming that’s what it was. Wired author Nadia Drake calls on the experts to explain the reality of the brown recluse and calm some of our irrational fears.
