Environmental Specialist III (Medical Entomologist) needed in FL

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is advertising for an Environmental Specialist III (Medical Entomologist) located in Tallahassee, Florida. The position requires expertise and knowledge of entomology, vector-borne disease epidemiology, and a broad understanding of arthropod control, identification, surveillance methods and mosquito control law.

The critical nature of this position requires the incumbent to support Florida’s Mosquito Control Industry by analyzing data on pestiferous and disease carrying mosquitoes and make appropriate recommendations for vector control in both routine and large-scale emergency situations. This position also involves statewide responsibility for training and consultation with the mosquito control industry and responsible health and environmental agencies.
