New app available for sprayer calibration

The University of Illinois Extension has released a new smartphone app called Sprayer Calibration Calculator. The app will assist applicators with calculations used when setting up and calibrating a sprayer. The calculator is available free for both Apple iOS and Android smartphone platforms.

In the app, users select from four options: Calibration, PSI for GPM, nozzle speed and convert value. There are help menus to provide guidance, and user inputs are easy to use.

“For most variables, touching the name of the variable brings up a definition of what the variable is and how it is measured,” says Scott Bretthauer, an Extension specialist in the pesticide safety education program. The developer also has plans to add a function to assist with tank mix calculations and more.
