Eastern tent caterpillar egg hatch soon underway for Central Kentucky

It is likely eastern tent caterpillars will begin to hatch soon, according to Lee Townsend, University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment extension entomologist.

According to Townsend, after spending about nine months as eggs in masses on twigs of wild cherry and related trees, the first few tiny eastern tent caterpillars of the season soon should be leaving their eggs. Continue reading

EPA Solicits Applications for Grants to Provide Businesses with Pollution Prevention Technical Assistance and Training

The Environmental Protection Agency is calling for grant proposals from state and tribal agencies, universities, colleges and other organizations to provide pollution prevention (P2) technical assistance or training to businesses. These two-year projects are expected to be performed in each EPA region.
