Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Harris County Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are sponsoring a 3-day workshop on mosquitoes and vector-borne diseases in Jackson, Mississippi.

The workshop is a master vector-borne disease management certification course. It includes:
- Vector Biology and Ecology: Training focused on Medical/Veterinary Entomology
- Epidemiology of Vector-Borne Diseases: Field instruction and Lab experience in vector surveillance
- Prevention & Communication Activities: Instruction on community wide implementation of prevention strategies, tools for developing programs
- Insecticide Resistance Monitoring: Hands-on application methods for assessing insecticide resistance monitoring
- Outbreak Response for Vector-borne Diseases: Integration of vector/pathogen surveillance and assessment with vector control management
Online Registration is open. No registration cost, and breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. Class size is limited to 30 participants. Similar workshops will be given in Monroe, LA, San Antonio, Weslaco, Houston and Dallas.
