Pulaski County Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent – Georgia

This position will be responsible for managing the Agricultural and Natural Resources programming in Pulaski County by providing educational opportunities in production agriculture and natural resources to a wide variety of audiences utilizing a variety of teaching methods. Pulaski County is a rural county near I-75, heavily dependent on agriculture for its economic vitality. The county has a total annual Farm Gate value of over $104 million. It ranks 1st in Wheat and Wheat Straw production for the state. 60% of the total row crop production in the county has transitioned to Cotton. It is also known for its strong conservation tillage practices.

This position serves as a UGA Public Service Faculty Member and a member of the Pulaski County Extension Staff (http://www.caes.uga.edu/extension/pulaski/) and is under the direction and leadership of the Pulaski County Extension Coordinator and the Southwest District Extension Director. Field Crops Specialist Extension Associate – Cornell University

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) provides the educational outreach functions for Cornell University’s role as New York State’s Land Grant University. Programmatically, Cornell Cooperative Extension connects the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and the College of Human Ecology (CHE) with more than 50 off-campus Associations, Integrated Pest Management, New York Sea Grant, Area Specialists, and CCE New York City. The Northwest New York Regional Dairy, Livestock, and Field Crops program of Cornell Cooperative Extension is the major regional extension program working with agricultural producers and agribusiness professionals in this region of New York State. This program will meet the needs of the field crops industry as related to the cash crop industry and integrated with the dairy industry across the 10 major agricultural counties in the region.
