How would you like to save a life today? Through pest control? It’s not as hard as you might think.

In the years since Bill Gates retired his position as CEO of MicroSoft Corporation, he and wife Melinda have devoted tremendous effort to battling malaria.  Malaria and the mosquitoes that transmit it is the single greatest killer of humans in the world, accounting for most of the 700,000+ mosquito-caused deaths annually.  But unlike many of the other major problems in the world, solutions to the malaria epidemic are available now. NC State receives $12.4 million to improve sweet potatoes

The world’s deadliest animal

Lions, tigers and bears have got nothing on this tiny creature that all of us see every summer in our backyards. Of all of the vicious creatures in the world, from the deadly lionfish to human beings, mosquitoes kill more people every year than any other creature. According to a writer at the Gates Notes, malaria alone kills 600,000 people a year. Another 125,000 are killed by other mosquito-transmitted viruses.
