Chemical communication among insects, plants, animals, and pathogens interactions of evolutionary importance at the molecular, biochemical, neurophysiological, behavioral, and ecological levels with special emphasis on plant-insect and microbe-insect interactions, olfaction, insects and disease, pollination, pheromones and their applied uses, and techniques in chemical ecology research.

Assistant Professor of Insect Ecological Physiology

The School of Integrative Biology and the Department of Entomology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, seek an outstanding scientist with a background and experience in insect ecological physiology for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level with the anticipated start date of August 16, 2017. A Ph.D. or equivalent in entomology, ecology, evolution, physiology, biology or a related field is required at the time of appointment. Salary is commensurate with rank and qualifications. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, and collaborate with other faculty to develop research initiatives relevant to ecological physiology.
