Overview:  The Residential Landscape Ecology (RLE) Lab of Dr. Basil Iannone in the School of Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida is looking for a creative and motivated Ph.D. student.  Position includes four-years of competitive stipend, tuition waiver, and benefits.  The student would also be affiliated with the Sustainable Human and Ecological Development Group and the Center for Landscape Conservation and Ecology. Webinar on woody ornamentals January 18

The University of Georgia’s Center for Urban Agriculture has developed an online, live, interactive training program that allows individuals to obtain Continuing Education credits from virtually anywhere, and the Georgia Department of Agriculture does not limit the number of hours that can be acquired by webinar. All you will need is a computer with internet access and speakers.

University of Georgia Horticulture Presents: Landscape Update, UGA Griffin Campus, Griffin, GA

This program is designed for the commercial landscaper or ground maintenance personnel and will cover a number of landscape management issues. Topics will include site analysis, planting and fertilizing as well as how to select the best trees and ornamentals. We will also have a section on how to manage turf as well as how to troubleshoot problems in the landscape. CEU and pesticide license credits have been applied for.  Dr. Bodie Pennisi and Bob Westerfield, Extension University of Georgia Horticulturists will be coordinating the program.  Pre-registration required.
