EPA to Host June 21, 2018, Webinar on Strategy to Ensure Effectiveness of Hospital Disinfectants

The Environmental Protection Agency will host a listening session via webinar to seek stakeholders’ input on the development of a risk-based product testing strategy to ensure continued effectiveness of hospital disinfectant products. The listening session is part of the Agency’s response to EPA’s Office of Inspector General’s recommendations on this issue.

House Ag Committee Announces Farm Bill Listening Session

“The Next Farm Bill, Conversations in the Field,” a committee listening session, will take place in Gainesville, Florida on June 24.

Ahead of the next farm bill, House Agriculture Committee Chairman K. Michael Conaway and Ranking Member Collin Peterson announced the first of several committee activities across the country intended to stimulate conversation and gather input from farmers, ranchers, and stakeholders. Upon announcement of the listening session, the chairman and ranking member stated they are looking forward to these events, and to help them get a better idea of how these programs are actually working, which will be beneficial as they look to potential changes in the next bill. They encourage farmers, ranchers, and other stakeholders to join them.

Solicitation of Input From Stakeholders Regarding the Food Safety Outreach Program

A Federal Register Notice entitled “Solicitation of Input From Stakeholders Regarding the Food Safety Outreach Program” was recently published in the Federal Register on December 12, 2016.

As part of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s (NIFA) strategy to successfully expand the Food Safety Outreach Program, NIFA will host a virtual listening session. The focus of the listening session is to gather stakeholder input to develop the priorities for the Request for Applications (RFA) in Fiscal Year (FY) 2018. NIFA is particularly interested in reaching the intended audience, achieving the most impact, and identifying suggested priorities in the third year of the Food Safety Outreach Program.

The comment period ends on January 31, 2017.
