Cooperative Agreement on Pesticide Safety Education

EPA is awarding the eXtension Foundation with a cooperative agreement to establish a system to distribute EPA funds to Pesticide Safety Education Programs (PSEPs) in State Cooperative Extension Services at Land Grant Universities.

PSEPs will use the funds to provide pesticide applicator training on the safe use of restricted use pesticides by applicators in agricultural, commercial and residential settings. Continue reading

Executive Director for New National Pesticide Safety Education Center

The National Pesticide Safety Education Center is a new entrepreneurial venture led by university extension Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) state and territory coordinators. Planned to become the premier national provider of pesticide safety education, its focus will be in establishing a national website that aggregates, cross-references and expands access to individual state’s pesticide safety offerings in a way that ensures high quality research-based education and generates revenue for local Cooperative Extension programs. The successful candidate will be an independent contractor, working virtually using eXtension’s resources. The position requires an entrepreneurial leader who can build a financially self-sustaining organization within two years. Pesticide Safety Education Funds Management Program

The Environmental Protection Agency is soliciting proposals from eligible applicants to manage a Pesticide Safety Education Funds Management Program (PSEFMP). Specifically, EPA is soliciting proposals from eligible applicants to establish and administer a national subaward program in support of pesticide applicator education and training for certified applicators of restricted use pesticides. A subaward program includes, but is not limited to, the administration and distribution of funds, monitoring subrecipients and measuring and reporting on results. Continue reading
