Henry Fadamiro Named Assistant Dean and Director of Global Programs

Auburn University alumni professor and researcher Henry Fadamiro has been named assistant dean and director of global programs in the College of Agriculture, effective Sept. 1, Dean Bill Batchelor has announced.

“Agriculture knows no geographical boundaries. It is the world’s largest industry, and so this new position in global programs will be very important for us moving forward,” Batchelor said. “Dr. Fadamiro brings extensive academic, administrative and leadership experience with him. We are proud to see him step into this new role.”

Regional IPM Centers Included in 2011 Federal budget

The federal budget bill for fiscal year 2011 passed yesterday by both the  Senate and the House of Representatives contains a mix of good and bad news for IPM funding. Funding for programs in the “section 406” line, which had been eliminated in some plans, was partially restored.

Southern Region Successes, Part 1

Since 2003, the Southern Region IPM Center has worked with stakeholders in the South to improve the economics, environmental impacts and health effects of pest management. For the next few posts, we are going to discuss some of the ways we have supported or funded groups for research or extension to further IPM in the region.
