USDA Announces $1.7 Million to Support Research at Tribal Colleges and Universities

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) today announced $1.7 million in funding to build research capacity at land-grant tribal colleges and universities. Funding is made through NIFA’s Tribal Colleges Research Grants Program (TCRGP).

“1994 land-grant universities represent a critically important part of our nation’s construct of academic institutions providing the leadership to address nutritional security amongst tribal populations while protecting our environment and natural resources, and at the same time ensuring young people are receiving education that prepares them for the workforce,” said NIFA Director Sonny Ramaswamy. USDA Announces $2 Million in Agriculture, Food Research Grants for Tribal Land-Grant Colleges

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) today announced nearly $2 million in grants to support research projects in American Indian communities through the Tribal College Research Grants Program (TCRGP), made possible by the 2014 Farm Bill.  The announcement comes as communities across the nation celebrate and honor Native American Heritage Month.

USDA Announces Availability of Funding to Support Agriculture and Food Research at Tribal Land-Grant Colleges

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) today announced the availability of $1.7 million in funding to improve the capacity of tribal land-grant colleges to undertake food and agriculture research. The funding is made available through the 2014 Farm Bill.
