The Department of Entomology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is a national and international leader in basic and applied aspects of insect biology, and has expertise ranging from molecular and sub-organismal biology to applied ecology. We seek to complement these strengths by establishing a new position in Vector Biology and Insect Interactions with Microbial Associates.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Evidence of established scholarship including a strong record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals together with the potential for contributions of national and international significance at the Assistant Professor level; Evidence of success in securing extramural funding; Evidence of excellent teaching skills. Assistant Professor/Assistant Entomologist

The Department of Entomology, University of California, Riverside, California, is seeking applicants for an assistant professor.

POSITION: Vector Biology. The Department of Entomology invites applications for a tenure-track position, 9-month appointment, available July 1, 2015. The position has 25% Instruction and Research and 75% Organized Research in the Agricultural Experiment Station http://cnas.ucr.edu/about/anr/. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Entomology or a related discipline; post-doctoral experience is preferred. The focus of this position will be on studying the behavior, ecology, evolution, genetics, molecular biology and/or physiology of insect vectors that transmit pathogens to animals, humans, and/or plants. Areas of research emphasis may include, but are not limited to, the ecology, epidemiology, evolutionary and comparative genomics, or innate immunity of vectors.
